Agent accused of lying about citizenship, claims he was born in Brownsville

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A July 3 trial has been set for a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer in southern Arizona accused of falsely claiming he was born in the United States.

Marco Antonio De la Garza Jr. has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of making false statements to authorities.

Authorities say De la Garza claimed he was born in Brownsville, Texas, when he is in fact a native of Mexico.

He is accused of lying about his citizenship in October during a background check update tied to his job.

De la Garza also is accused of making false statements about his birth country last year when he sought a U.S. passport.

He has worked for the federal agency since April 2012.

Wow, an illegal alien working for the Border Patrol.... that takes the cake!

Lying is 2nd nature - no integrity. How can one be comfortable sneaking into anther country and lying for employment, taking birthing of families for free along with future schooling, healthcare, etc. All to send remittances to home country & have a so called citizen kid/kids that will give you a ticket to be here eventually - and Americans pay for all of that. Tnanks to open border advocates wanting cheap labor and more consumers. The snowflakes buy into it all too - "oh we can afford to keep them all"; ms-13 gang members too I guess. soros $$$ working hard to get the voter eligibility numbers up for illegals too.

It's possible I'm wrong, but it seems a remember a similar case years ago where a BP agent was discovered to be an illegal alien.

I was looking for that article earlier. It was a border patrol agent or I.C.E. agent maybe or a Texas sheriff. Can't find it yet.
