    U.S. bolstering effort to fight Mexican drug smuggling, violence


    More federal agents and surveillance equipment are being added to parts of the border with Mexico in a bid to stop assault weapons and drug profits from being smuggled into Mexico, not just preventing drug smuggling into the United States. The announcement comes a day before Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leaves on a trip to Mexico.

    Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced the plan to spend $700 million to curb drug smuggling and the escalating border violence, calling it “a demand issue and a supply issue,â€

    The big question that I have, is that I have not heard it addressed in the media is that if they double our presence on the border, will they also stop the illegal aliens from crossing while they are looking to stop the violence.

    It has been very quiet from the other side as I would think that ordinary Illegal aliens would not be able to cross anymore.

    Or will they simply be let through?
