SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) - An illegal immigrant has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for an accident that killed a Port Washington boy last August.

Sheboygan County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Van Akkeren described 27-year-old Eddie Carbajal-Lile's crime as severe, noting he had been drinking before the crash and made no attempt to get help for the victims.

A criminal complaint says Carbajal-Lile ran a stop sign and struck a car carrying 17-year-old Paul Watry and two other teens. Watry died. Carbajal-Lile fled and was captured two weeks later in Ohio.

He previously pleaded no contest to felonies including hit and run resulting in death.

Carbajal-Lile is from Mexico but was living with a brother in Fredonia.
