Illegal immigrant pleads guilty
CONCORD - A 32-year-old Mexican national and former Nashua resident pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to re-entering the United States after twice being deported, officials at the U.S. Attorney’s office in Concord said.
Customs agents arrested Hector Horta-Arriaga, also known as Alberto Mendoza, on May 15 at the Nashua District Court, officials said.
A federal grand jury indicted Horta-Arriaga on June 7 on one count of re-entering the country after deportation, officials said.
Horta-Arriaga faces up to 20 years in federal prison and fine of $250,000 at his sentencing hearing, which is set for Dec. 21 in U.S. District Court in Concord.
