    RE: Illegal-Immigrant Population Dropping

    I don't believe this for a minute:

    -----------------I.C.E. DEPORTATIONS----------------
    ---2002------2003------2004-------2005------2006------2007------2008(ends 9/30)
    116,154--145,935--162,014--151,579--185,431--276,912--

    -------------I.C.E. WORKPLACE ARRESTS-------------
    2002-----2003-----2004-------2005------2006-------2007------2008(ends 9/30)
    -510------517-------845--------1296------4383-------4940------4437

    Southwest Border Patrol Apprehensions
    Fiscal Year-------------2005---------2006----------2007--------2008 (ends 9/30)
    Apprehensions----1,189,108--1,071,972-----858,638----578,774

From interviews with illegals, it has been said that 90% of illegals make it across the border on the first try. That statistic may have changed with the stepped up enforcement, and added fencing, but there are still many more illegals coming into our country than are being deported. Until they start backing up at the border, waiting to cross back into Mexico, I won't believe it.

Businesses would like to have us believe the number of illegals is declining, so we let up on the pressure.

This is the exact time we need to greatly increase the pressure on businesses and illegals; don't allow them to lull us into a sense of well being, as despite what they say, everything isn't OK!!

    KEEP CRANKING IT UP!!

Perhaps there is a decrease in states who are enacting laws, such as Arizona, but no way are there less in Mexifornia. Wouldn't be surprised if we have more than ever because of what some states are doing. This state practically puts out a welcome mat!

This is great news and consistent with what we are hearing on the ground, I will add to the homepage with following note.

    http://www.alipac.us/article3397.html

ALIPAC NOTE: The illegal immigrant levels are dropping because of the bad economy and YOUR efforts to encourage more immigration enforcement, especially on the state and local level! Time to push even harder!

I know that this is a sincere article but I have a hard time believing that illegal alien populations are decreasing across the USA. Now, perhaps in certain places like sections of Oklahoma where the laws are in play and the economy is not going well, the illegals have moved on to more prosperous or friendly areas, but I have yet to see signs of decreased illegals in MD, VA, or DC. As long as there are jobs for them, ICE doesn't do interior enforcement, and the border remains porous, there will be net gains. Doesn't mean that we should stop our efforts, but, with the exception of probably a handful of jurisdictions across the USA, the illegal population is definitely rising.

Plus, the anchor babies are still multiplying at astonishing rates. Their moms don't care about the bad economy because they're not working; just collecting the taxpayer benefits.
