Saying she hoped the fear of God would keep federal agents away, undocumented immigrant Flor Crisostomo on Monday vowed to stay in a Humboldt Park church indefinitely to keep Congress focused on immigration reform.

Tears streaming down her cheeks, a defiant Crisostomo said she did not believe she was breaking U.S. law, nor did she see herself as hiding.

Arrested in an immigration raid in April 2006, she was ordered to leave the country voluntarily by Jan. 28. Crisostomo sought “sanctuaryâ€

This church needs to lose tax exempt statis since it has become involved in politics and obstructing justice.My mother converted to be come a catholic some years ago -her only problem with them is thier pandering to illegals -they want thier pews filled and donations -they also show them how to get govenment housung,food stamps,free dental for thier kids,even fuel oil and electricity paid for and this is in gettysburg, Pa not california.

Everyone needs to call the IRS!!! This church, Adalberto United Methodist Church, NEEDS to lose the tax free status that they so enjoy.

Felipe Calderon is expected to be in Chicago on Feb. 14. I will bet anything that he will visit this Elvira wanna-be. Calderon has to visit her, because if he doesn't, it will be an insult to all illegal alien Mexicans.

If you live in the Chicago Area, or know someone who does, please inform them about Calderon's visit so they can be present and protest his aiding and abeding.

I would suggest a rather 'blind, and inquisitive'' approach - as in:
Call the IRS, and pass along the line like...:

"Hello. I have a question about non-profits/churches and tax-exempt [TE] status. Is it ok for a church to engage in political activity and still maintain TE status? Does that also apply if they harbor Federal fugitives???

A dollar to a dime says that La Raza has orchestrated all of this.

ICE needs to go into that church and remove this fugitive at once. I'm sick and TIRED of these people not only evading deportation orders, but flaunting their defiance in the process.

This is a slap in the face to all American Citizens that obey the law and pay their taxes. We deserve better than this.

Crisostomo’s three children, ages 14, 11 and 9, live with their grandmother in Mexico.

Crisostomo, 28, left her children in Guerrero, Mexico, seven years ago to work illegally in the United States. She was arrested April 19, 2006, during an immigration raid at a pallet factory where she earned $300 a week.

She had her first child at age 14 and second one at 17.
