Illegal Immigration from India Through Central America and Mexico Surges

Jun 8: Between October 2009 and March 2011, U.S. Border Patrol detained at least 2,600 illegal immigrants from India, a dramatic spike considering apprehensions of Indian border-jumpers had historically hovered between 150 and 300 per year.

There is a surge of undocumented immigrants trying to enter the United States but their background isn't what you might expect.

The sluggish economy has reduced the number of undocumented immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. But authorities have noticed a spike in the number of migrants from India over the last two years.

Smugglers using many of the same tactics as drug cartels are running an 11,000-mile pipeline that moves human cargo from India, through Central America and Mexico and over the Rio Grande into Texas.

With fewer Mexicans and Central Americans crossing the border, smugglers are eager for more "high-value cargo" like Indians, some of whom are willing to pay more than $20,000 for the journey.

Between October 2009 and March 2011, the Border Patrol detained at least 2,600 undocumented immigrants from India, a dramatic rise over the typical 150 to 300 arrests per year.

So if the Border Patrol caught 2,600 that means approx. 8 thousand did not get caught. The ones who were caught are claiming asylum and being released to go where they choose with work permit in hand to fill the employment needs of Indian Co. operating within the USA.

Why bother with visas when Obama thinks it is fine to jump our borders instead ?

GRRRRRRR! America is falling apart at the seams. People come for the freebies and of course jobs go to illegals first in many cases. Stop the damned jobs and freebies and we wouldn't have this insanity!!!

I think we may have a very large number of illegal Chinese here as well. I keep running across ones who don't seem to be very well integrated into US society, so you wonder if they are actually going through the proper channels to obtain citizenship. There have been other stories of groups of workers who were promised careers in the US and then became indentured to whoever managed to bring them here.

That doesn't surprise me Captainron. Once here, the illegal invaders can hide in broad daylight amongst their own ethnic enclaves (they use multiculturalism and diversity to their advantage, hiding out amongst their own) with little of fear of being questioned, much less apprehended.

They all understand if they can just make it across the border, they're basically home free.

You can add illegal Polish and Russian (mafia) to that list as well. There are tons of them in the Chicagoland area.
