Don't the casinos require a complete background check??? How can an illegal pass a background check? And WHY would they give an illegal a license to steal??? I hope the casinos lose their shirts over this very unwise decision!

The Hawaiian Gardens Casino a card club near Los Angeles is an interesting example for using illegal aliens. There are a lot of people working entirely for tips. If the clients are paying their workers directly there is no need for them to check out the workers immigration status.

Casinos are a blight on our society. The Indian tribes euphemistically refer to it as "gaming" supposedly in keeping with their traditions. A few years ago I worked on a construction project at a Boeing facility, and that crowd (not the actual Boeing people) were always talking about "going to the casino." Of course when you are losing money hand over fist you're going to start looking for a way to rplenish it--even if it means taking someone else's job.

Native American tribes should look at cooperatively building their own communities through modern construction methods, operating tourist industries, resource conservation, wildlife conservation or a number of other things. Casinos are a blight.

Richard...the reason they don't pay a salary is because the tips are huge! I'm sure that Americans would be MORE than happy to work for tips under those circumstances...it doesn't make any sense to hire illegals...they aren't saving any money, are they?

I read an article not long ago about a couple of doormen at Las Vegas hotel/casinos who were making MILLIONS of dollars a year in tips...because they are the ones who decide who gets into the big shows at the casinos, and various other concierge services.

You can bet your bottom dollar that even the lowest beverage server makes a fortune in tips if he works in a Vegas casino! But the illegals mentioned in this article are not just waiters and coat checkers...they are pit bosses and dealers! Imagine how much money in tips they are making...astronomical.. But, at the same time, they are holding jobs of authority...i.e. pit boss.

The Mexican mafia MUST be involved in the gambling industry in Vegas...there's no other explanation. I think the FEDS need to investigate...oops...forgot...they are in bed with Mexico! Silly me!

A high school graduate CANNOT get an entry leval job here in the Casinos UNLESS they are bilingual Spanish speaking.....not even a job in McDonalds...so where are the fresh out of high school Citizens going to get a job?....When we had the Caucus here....they had them in the Casinos and all you had to do to VOTE was show your work badge.....Interpretors were needed cause they couldn't speak English...and nobody cares....
We have Harry Reid here who is vocal in protecting them and the Casinos... I wish ICE would come here.....Take your choice...ANY Casino....
