PRESCOTT, AZ -- Yavapai County Sheriff's Office officers arrested a man last Tuesday for allegedly using a stolen social security number to gain employment.

Detectives arrested Raymond Corral, 44, who is employed by Whitton Concrete/Plumbing Company in Mesa by allegedly using a stolen SSN.

The victim, a 23-year-old Prescott resident, learned that his social security number had been used by someone else when he was conducting business with the Arizona Department of Economic Security in March 2010.

A case worker asked the man about his job at a concrete company in Mesa, to which the victim replied he had no such job and was not familiar with the company.

He then contacted law enforcement and reported fraudulent use of his social security number.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau interviewed the victim in April, and quickly identified Corral, as a user of the victim’s SSN.

Corral reportedly admitted that he is in the U.S. illegally and he knowingly used the stolen SSN number to get hired at the concrete company.

He was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center, held without bond, and is due in court on Tuesday.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office notes that The Whitton Company fully cooperated with their investigation.
