ROSHARON — Brazoria County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a man shot in the neck and hand and 13 undocumented immigrants in a two-story house in Rosharon after following up on a disconnected 911 call late Wednesday night.
The dispatcher reported hearing screams at the other end of the line before the call disconnected at about 11:35 p.m., according to a sheriff’s department press release. Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the house in the 500 block of Rio San Juan to discover the front door pried open and a Hispanic man who had been shot.
Deputies then searched to see if there were other victims. In their search, they found 13 undocumented immigrants in the adjoining garage. Two of the immigrants were young children, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Capt. Chris Kincheloe said.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported by EMS to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. His condition was reported stable by sheriff’s investigators.
Kincheloe said there are no suspects yet, but the situation appeared to be a robbery.
“It looks like it was a straight-up robbery,” Kincheloe said.
There have been similar robberies of undocumented immigrants in the Houston area, but no one had been reported hurt, he said. This is the first of its kind that has been reported in Brazoria County, Kincheloe said.
“The bandits are attacking people who are dealing in the human trafficking, maybe,” he said.
Kincheloe said he was not sure if the robbery in Rosharon was linked to the robberies in Houston.
According to a report by Investigator Jimmy Miller, the undocumented immigrants were from El Salvador. They were transported to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, where they are being held for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Kincheloe said there is an investigation into the immigrants and the victim, who he said was the owner of the house.
“Everything is going to be looked at,” he said. “Everybody is going to be looked at.”Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Illegal immigrants make excellant robbery or burglary victims. They often don't have bank accounts and strictly deal in cash. Criminals are aware of this and watch their habits and then rob them or burglarize them. In fact in Fort Lauderdale there are many illegal Guatamalans and the criminals who victimize them call it: "doing Guat". They get robbed at gun point often and one of them ended up getting murdered.
