Immigration agents arrest 27 people in Omaha area during operation at multiple locations Thursday

Federal immigration agents arrested 27 men Thursday from various locations in the Omaha area.

All of the men are from Mexico and suspected of being in the country illegally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement.


Shawn Neudauer, an ICE spokesman, said that special agents with ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations conducted an operation Thursday at multiple locations in Omaha.

Six of the men had minor criminal histories; three of them had previously been deported from the United States.

Of those three, one man has been convicted three times for illegally re-entering the U.S. and two others have been deported twice each.

The names of the men are not released due to ICE policy.

“Since this is an ongoing criminal investigation, no further comment is available,” Neudauer said.
