    DHS' policy of "selective enforcement" is why the Obama Administration so adamantly opposed the strict Arizona law SB-1070. Even to the point of filing their own lawsuit against AZ, rather than simply seeing how the new law would play-out. The enforcement of SB-1070 would have referred more people to ICE who could not properly identify themselves, while respecting civil rights at the same time. AZ law-enforcement would have had a good partnership with Federal authorities, and yet Attorney General Eric Holder & the DOJ sued AZ.

    It's as if the DOJ was telling AZ: "Well, if you refer thousands more illegal aliens to DHS & ICE, we're just going to dismiss their cases anyway, so there's no need to have SB-1070".
