Immigration groups plan march against SB1070

PHOENIX -- Immigration rights groups are planning to protest when Arizona's immigration enforcement law goes before the U.S. Supreme Court.
To be held April 25, the march is meant to coincide with when the high court will begin hearing arguments in the federal government's challenge to SB1070.
Advocacy groups such as Somos America and the American Civil Liberties Union announced plans Friday in downtown Phoenix for a march against state and federal immigration policies.
"We've really had enough with this kind of law," said Victoria Lopez with the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona. "We really believe that SB1070 should continue to be enjoined and eventually struck down as unconstitutional but the court, not only in Arizona, but in states that have enacted copycat measures."
Lopez said the controversial immigration law is also affecting Arizona's economy in a negative way.
"It's definitely a concern that these types of laws are being enacted," she said. "Not only because they're affecting communities and families in these states, but because they're affecting all of us."
Lopez said the Alabama's version of the law, HB56, is expected to shrink the southern state's economy by billions of dollars each year.
The Arizona law was signed by Gov. Jan Brewer in 2010. It requires all immigrants obtain or carry immigration registration documents.
The law also allows police to question a person's immigration status if there is reasonable suspicion they are in the state illegally. It has sparked protests and boycotts against Arizona by Latino advocates around the country.

Yeah, we know how illegals like to pick and choose which laws to follow, if any at all.
