Immigration policy criticized in front of U.S. militaries

    (Entire article translated by NAFBPO)

Federal deputies (read: congressmen) questioned the insensitivity and harshness of the American government immigration policy in front of the chiefs of the North Command (General Victor Renuart) and Southern Command (Admiral James Stavidris), by pointing out that for every three Mexicans deported because of their illegal status, one minor stayed abandoned in American territory.

PRI Party member Edmundo Ramirez Martinez said to them, these children are mostly citizens of that country and on average every year 75 thousand minors who are citizens are abandoned due to the immigration policies of the White House, while some 25 thousand Mexican minors suffer the same situation due to the deportations.

The legislator added “If this doesn’t tell you anything, doesn’t move you to reflect, then it means that you don’t care much about the fate of the children who are American citizens and this is grave.â€

[quote]Edmundo Ramirez warned that in this context previous to the start of the Merida Initiative, “President Calderon cannot fall into the temptation of reaching accords with these military proposals without consulting with the Legislative Power, since this would be very delicate.â€

It is time to get rid of 14th Amendment! And I agree that the kids should be shipped home to their parents. Why are the Mexicans snarling at the US when they should spend that energy on fixing their own country. Can't wait to see what effect our tax dollars to Mexico will have with our help and armaments fighting drug cartels. I have a feeling that if you are only an illegal smuggler, you get left alone.

Mexico, your citizens are breaking American Laws. They will be sent back with or without their children. Deport all illegal criminal aliens as soon as possible, do not waste tax dollars on them.

So these people who supposedly have such good family values are actually abandoning their children. They don't take them with them? No they leave them here (if they really do) to get back in. They step in it every time they try to put the responsibility on us. What a joke.

If a total of 100,000 children PER YEAR are being abandoned in this country, where are they being warehoused? Where is the proof of this? We have seen upwards of 100 illegals leave our immediate neighborhood within the past year and not a single one has left their children, born here or not, behind

As usual, Mexico is shooting it's mouth off and offering not one shred of credible evidence to back it up.

Further, Mexican minors should immediately be deported right along with their parents, as well as the 75,000 alleged American citizen children who are, incidentally, also citizens of Mexico via dual citizenship. The fact of the matter is that parents are solely responsible for their children until they are 18. IF they are leaving them here, it is the PARENTS who are guilty of child abandonment......no one else. Just as they are responsible for mixing their children up in this mess to begin with.

Perhaps we should also begin prosecuting them with child abandonment as well? I think so.

I believe that you're absolutely correct NoBueno.

We are dealing with a country which has never been a true friend to the United States but it was in their best interest to put on that facade. As long as they were "friendly" they stood to gain billions from this country in aid and military equipment, build a thriving drug trade, could continue to export millions of their own citizens here for the purposes of colonization and the billions in remittances from their peasants, and for whatever else they could take us for.

As soon as the amnesty collapsed a year ago, there was a noticeable change in the language coming from Mexico and it has not improved any since we have begun seriously cracking down.

Their tone has become increasingly menacing, they make no secret of being a threat to our sovereignty, and there is now beginning to be admissions even from the US side that the relationship is tense and strained.

I say that it's time for that divorce!!!!

I googled Mexican citenzhip, and it appears these children do have dual citizenship. One article I glanced at seemed to indicate that nationality and citizenship were not the same. I am not sure about that. But for Mexico to claim these children that are "citizens of ours" is misleading, since it appears they are citizens of both countries and therefore Mexico has as much responsibility for them as the US. And I honestly believe the statement of "abandonment" is just not true. Most parents will not abandon their children..maybe leave them with a friend of relative, but not abandon them. Most take their children with them.
I came across an article from 2002, which I am attaching the link to. It is about dual citizenship, and some things in it I found rather disturbing. I am curious of others' thoughts on the article. It is a little lengthy.
