Immigration Raid Nets Dozens at Dulles Airport
    Jun 14th - 1:29pm

DULLES, Va. -- An immigration raid at Dulles International Airport resulted in 55 arrests on Wednesday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement says.

The people were doing contract work at a construction site, inside a secure area, where they would potentially have access to runways and airplanes.

ICE agents made their move as the workers were being bused to the site, checking work and immigration papers.

The agency says one of the workers had an airport security badge, that grants unescorted access to the airport tarmac.

ICE says allowing unauthorized workers into sensitive sites puts the nation's infranstructure at risk.

Most of the people arrested will be flown an ICE detention facility in El Paso, Texas to begin removal proceedings.

Officials say this operation and others like it aim to guard infrastructure. The agency says it's important to make sure people who work at airports are in the United States legally.

Investigation into the workers' immigration status has been going on for a while, leading up to the raid.

The arrests did not affect flights or travel to and from the airport.

    Who is in control?

What a DHS perpetrated sham. All these illegals if they haven't been released along with the criminals, gang members, sex offenders and violent criminals terrorizing Americans will supposedly be deported. The ICE Princess said DHS will no longer tolerate the presence of criminals in this country but with our borders in such sad shape and no viable program to track deportees they will be back if they aren't already; as many have been deported multiple times. They will kill and maim more Americans as a 13 year old boy who is now paralyzed after being attacked by a member of MS-13, while this jackass, dumb as a tomato, horse's ass, Benedict Arnold, El Presidente Vicente Bush just stands by and watches without a care in the world. How can Myers look the American public in the eye and lie through her teeth? (rhetorical question). I am beyond livid.

Although 55 illegal immigrants were arrested, where it goes from there is anyone's guess. Follow-up coverage is important to know if ICE is enforcing our immigration laws or simply putting on a show as we near November elections.

When ICE arrests 55 illegal immigrants, then quietly releases 50, a too common occurrence, this is a waste of manpower and tax dollars. Catch and Release serves no purpose other than to tell illegal immigrants they will be temporarily inconvenienced as ICE puts on a show for the American taxpayers.

Moving beyond immigration laws, I lived through the horror of terrorists flying a plane into the Pentagon, watching the smoke and flames from my office building.

On a typical day, 1,800 to 2,000 flights are handled through Dulles airport, making it the 2nd busiest trans-Atlantic gateway on the Eastern Seaboard.

When Airport Security hands out passes to restricted areas based on nothing but the say-so of a contractor or sub contractor (no paper work or verification of legal presence), this places hundreds of thousands of people at risk.

If the illegal immigrants working at the airport are anything like those in and around the area where I live, they will do whatever they are told without question. Combine that with carelessly granting access to restricted areas to anyone (on a wink and a nod) and we have a disaster waiting to happen.

Not at all surprising, no action has been taken against Lane Construction (one of the contractors) or probably will be, as the company sub'd out the work and was not aware its sub hired illegals - i.e., did not KNOWINGLY hire illegals. However, the "finger pointing game" has been taken to a whole new level, as everyone from Lane to Airport Security are saying "Not my fault; he did it!"

Having illegal aliens on airport property no matter whom they work for is ludicrous and a detriment to airport security. All personnel should be checked daily as they go thru the gates just as the public is when they fly. Look at any food court in any airport and notice how many illegal aliens are employed by these food companies. They cannot even take your order properly as they do not speak english. If you cannot speak english how do you get a job, how do you take instructions to do your job? Geesh!!!

With regards to the news stories of arrests and then release yes this is a horse and pony show of catch and release which old georgie said would stop but has not. This is another blatant waste of our tax dollars while our government lets criminals run around in our country killing american citizens
Freedom isn't free... Don't forget the men who died and gave that right to all of us....

The article in the WP did not say anything about releases; it did say that "some" of those arrested were transported to a detention center in TX to be deported. What has not included in the WP report was how many of the 55 arrested at the airport went to TX?

Some would have us believe this has created a "chill of fear" among local illegals, but we've seen this before and the chill thaws quickly as the work force is replaced with more illegals.

Lane's contract won't be cancelled because it did not KNOWINGLY hire illegals. Nor can it afford to default if unable to replace the workers with minimal work interruption.

I'm only surmising, but it is likely the bid proposal was written with the intent to use cheap labor. In Northern VA, American construction workers will NOT work for $7 - $8 per hour, and there is a vast pool of illegals from which to pull who will gladly asusme the risk.

How can this be, everyone knows we can't function without the illegal laborers.
