PHARR — U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the seizure of 145.9 pounds of marijuana and the arrest of one man from Chicago.

The arrest took place Thursday at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge when the 33-year-old man drove a 1999 Astro minivan to an inspection booth and was referred to a secondary inspection area. There, CBP officers found two bundles of marijuana hidden in the minivan’s gas tank.

Officers seized the drugs and turned over the driver to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation and prosecution.
