Immokalee man charged with attempting to lure 9-year-old girl to home

An Immokalee man is in jail after he was accused of trying to lure a 9-year-old girl to his home.

Juan Ramirez, 21, is charged with luring or enticing a child under 12. Collier County deputies were sent to a home in the 500 block of Oakhaven Circle in Immokalee about 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The mother of the girl said Ramirez had approached her daughter, touched her, and asked her to come to his place, according to his arrest report. Other witnesses said they’d seen him watching children playing at the nearby park.

The girl told deputies that Ramirez touched her arm twice and tried to get her to do things she didn’t want to do, the report says. She said she felt “scared, creepy and terrified.â€

Ramirez said he has a lot of 8- and 9-year-old friends and likes to hang out in the park
