Authorities say Flores smelled of alcohol. The toddler was crying and had bruises on her forehead and cheek.

The girl's mother told police she was with Flores earlier in the evening. When the woman went inside a home, Flores allegedly stole the car with the toddler in the back seat.

The young girl is back with her mother today.

Flores faces a number of charges including felony neglect of a dependent and auto theft.
