Attorney General Jeff Sessions will head to Arizona on Tuesday for a tour of the U.S.-Mexico border, his first such tour as top Justice official.

The former Alabama senator was known by his colleagues at an immigration hawk and is no stranger to border issues. Sessions' former communications director, Stephen Miller, drafted many of President Trump's policy stances when he was a GOP candidate, including the one on immigration.

Sessions' tour will start near the Port of Nogales and Mariposa Port of Entry in southcentral Arizona. Later, Sessions will address the International Association of Chiefs of Police Division Midyear Conference at the Wigwam Ballroom in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

Finally, Sessions will address service members at Luke Air Force Base in the state before heading back to Washington.
