ELGIN (KGUN9-TV) - Two men who crossed the border illegally near Parker Canyon Lake were struck by lightning Tuesday afternoon.

According to a Border Patrol spokesperson, the men, ages 26 and 32, called 911 and made the claim.

Agents found them around 6 p.m. and took them to the Sonoita Border Patrol station, where they were examined by emergency responders from the Sonoita-Elgin Fire Department.

Amazingly, the two suffered only minor burns and were taken by ambulance to University Medical Center in Tucson where, at last check, they were listed in stable condition.
