When NAFTA and the WTO were passed I was so glad I worked a job that couldn't be exported! Little did I know or suspect.

Illegals, particularly in the South, have worked in construction, as opposed to picking strawberries, etc. Many of these illegals have started their own companies where they employ other illegals and American construction workers can no longer find work because they are underbid for every job by an illegal alien with his illegal alien crew.

Hattiecat your statements are very true in South Florida. They were and some are still working building condos. They were or are found on Trump sites in Sunny Isles Beach, Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale. They were also on the Turnberry job sites (owned by Sopher) in Sunny Isles Beach and Aventura. They used to bus them in from Haul Over Beach parking lot to their job sites. When police did pick some of them up they almost all carried $2,000 in cash so they could bond out if picked up by immigration. They are now building a Ball Park in the City of Miami and bragging they are hiring minority contractors. You can bet your last penny those contractors will hire illegals. The sad part is that those people are not the minority in the City of Miami. If you know the city at all then you are well aware that white non laitnos are the minority. You don't have to look farther than the City of Miami Police Department's hiring preference where they prefer Spanish and Creole speakers.

What many people are failing to recognize is that the businesses that hire illegal aliens do so because they want to pay lower wages and provide no benefits, thus maximizing their profits. This is not a new phenomenon. All of this started decades ago. It's got nothing to do with whether Americans will do the jobs or not. It has everything to do with wages and benefits. The businesses that hire illegal workers will fight tooth and nail to keep the illegals because their logic is simple...hiring illegals is good for business...THEIR business. It's an abuse that the government and the American people have tolerated far too long. We will have to force this spoonful of bitter medicine down their throats if they are to ever change in favor of working class Americans.

Our Founding Fathers came from England to escape high taxation.... Businesses get many deductions on taxes and build equity in their businesses. Many times businesses owe nothing to the Federal or State Governments.

So why are they hiring illegals again? It is to profit more at the expense of average wage earners.

Hiring illegals is another form of slave labor. One of my coworkers was a forklift operator and worked on the Olympics site in Atlanta. He was let go and an illegal was hired which was paid half of what he was paid and got no benefits. This man was one of many who lost jobs to illegals.

Of course the illegals can work for so much less because most of them have an illegal alien spouse living with them and U.S. citizen anchor babies collecting benefits unavailable to tax paying Americans.
