Keep The Faith—McCain (and Amnesty) Will Fail

Keep The Faith—McCain (and Amnesty) Will Fail
    By Joe Guzzardi
    February 06, 2008

Let’s start with the good news. John McCain, the likely (but not absolutely certain) Republican nominee, will never be president.

(What are my credentials for such a bold statement? Wait until the last paragraph of this article!)

Coming after eight years of the disastrous George W. Bush administration and its legacy of war, lunatic immigration enthusiasm, indifference to the middle class and the crushing mortgage crisis, McCain would have a tough climb even if he were the ideal GOP candidate.

But in most ways, McCain is the worst possible candidate. He’s Bush all over again—maybe worse. Open those borders! Let’s stay a hundred more years in Iraq! (See McCain’s speech on YouTube here).

Good luck to McCain campaigning on a platform that echoes Bush and his 30 percent favorable poll rating.

Now for the bad news. If McCain doesn’t become president, then a Democrat will—most likely Hillary Clinton but there’s still plenty of time for Barack Obama to maneuver his way to the nomination.

Both are proud of their amnesty stances. And each insists, wrongly and hurtfully, that more non-immigrant worker visas are essential for the American economy to thrive.

To be sure, it’s a bummer that Republicans don’t have a solid patriotic immigration reform candidate that we can count on at the forefront of the race.

But have faith! Don’t panic! Amnesty will not come automatically regardless of who is elected. History and momentum are on our side.

Have readers totally forgotten how far we’ve come and the magnitude of our 2007 victories?

Here’s an example of what I mean.

Throughout Clinton and Obama’s campaigning and especially since McCain’s resurgence, my in-box has filled up with the direst messages—“ It’s all over now,â€

I agree as well. We had a AMNESTY PRESIDENT for almost 8 years and it didn't pass.

The American people won't let it pass. Keep the faith.

I agree McCain will not be president actually because of this administration's record I do not believe any Republican could have won perhaps that is the reason we drew such a poor group, however I do believe Amnesty does have a chance if LaRaza and other pro immigration groups can silence talk radio and shows such as Lou Dobbs. These pro immigrations groups are funded with taxpayer money, corporations and I suspect some funding comes from left wing groups outside the USA. We need a posted data base of who is funding LaRaza and other pro amnesty groups so we can use our pocketbooks to protest.

We must continue to fight from local elections to national elections it is truly a matter of having a future for America that is not third world.

Inspiring writing. Take his words to heed. As hard as it is to figure out how McCain is getting successfully polished up for coronation, amnesty shall never come to pass UNLESS we let our guard down and get complacent or non-diligent.

To Skippy - your message did make me feel a little better about the way the presidential race is shaping up. But as others replied, we cannot let down our guard. Not only the presidential candidates, but those running for any office must be made aware of the true feelings of the majority of voters regarding this matter.

Hey guys, I don't want to be pesimistic but look it at this way. Now we have more Democrats in the Senate and the House of Representatives and you and I know that the Democrats give a dime about our own beliefs our conservatism and what is right or wrong. Do you really think if they pass the law and we call and raise mortal hell to defeat it they'll care? Remember, we used to have more Republicans in the Senate and in the House - not anymore. I wish you are right about it but if McCain, Hillary or Barack get electec we are in trouble.

Nobody liked Mitt Romney because most said he was flip flopping in several issues. I would like to tell those who did not vote for Mitt Romney what they'll think about having all liberals as President.

    God keep us save!

I think the article is well written. I disagree with his opinion on Romney. Rahm Emanuel anger the pro-illegal community when he stated that nothing can be done about it until the second term of a Democrat President. If they push it and Americans, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents come unhinged like they did in New York with Elliott Spitzer, the Democrats could see mass defections from their camp.

The new seats taken in the House were CONSERVATIVE Democrats. Rahm knew that was the way to take back the House. He was right. He is also right that if Pelosi wants to stay in power she can't go against everything they want or she will anger them. Shuler's legislation is one they need to take a good long look at. Of course, Nancy has her mult-millions in the CA wine industry so she could just thumb her nose at them.

If they do push it and American is angered by it, they won't get over it and you'll see a new sweep of the House and Senate. If they do and it passes it will be under the mantle of the Democrats and Americans who have lost loved ones lives, jobs, and college seats WILL NEVER FORGET THE DEMOCRATS FOR DOING THAT TO THEIR THEM AND THEIR COUNTRY.

They will have to tread softly.
