Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach said Friday that he would advise President Trump to end DACA now, or Mr. Trump will face political consequences.

“The legal question isn’t even a close one. You’ve already had multiple courts say that a similar amnesty that came a few years after DACA was completely illegal,” Mr. Kobach, Kansas Republican, said on Fox News. “It’s a loser. And the president, if he were to continue DACA, would lose in court and politically.”

“It would be a very bad political construction because his base would be cheering against him when his administration loses,” he said.

DACA — Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals — is an immigration policy started under former President Barack Obama to allow certain illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children to stay. Mr. Trump has said he wanted to end the program, but has since been open to preserving parts of it in a slower phase-out method.

“There is a way the president can do it that does show some compassion for the situation of these people and that is to simply allow them to expire. And so a person who got a DACA amnesty yesterday has two years to live and work in the United States. Allow that person’s amnesty, illegal though it is, to continue for two years,” Mr. Kobach said.

I agree this decision to end DACA is one of his greatest promises to his voters that he must do or he will lose a lot of his base which would seriously harm his Presidency.

We want NO DEALS on DACA

They terminated DAPA. Terminate DACA with NO path to stay, no amnesty, void all work permits.

Go home and get in line like everybody else.

Now sign an order to STOP issuing US Birth Certificates to the children of non-citizens! Give them a Certificate of Child Born Abroad.

He already broke his promise to end DACA "immediately" after election and that's a broken promise that can't be put back in the bottle. However, you're right, he could salvage a little face with his supporters by ending the program now.

LOL!!! Please GOP find a candidate that MW can vote for to try to primary Trump so we're spared his broken promise prattling during Trump's second term.

I'm sorry you don't take a boken promise to end an illegal immigrant amnesty as a serious concern. ALIPAC pulled its endorsement of Trump over that very issue. It's not a very good precedent to start your presidency on.

Perhaps you should go read the ALIPAC Mission Statement.

This has nothing to do with ALIPAC's Mission Statement, it doesn't even have anything to do with the President, this about you and your vote for a "narcissist".
