DALLAS -- A man convicted this week for tainting grocery store baked items by sprinkling dried feces on the food is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday.

Prosecutors had store surveillance videotapes from a Fiesta grocery store of two incidents in July.

"He takes his own fecal matter and spread it to the wind over the food going to the public," prosecutor Will Ramsey said in court. "It's just so disgusting and, you know what, people get hurt."

The 49-year-old taxi driver was charged with two felony counts of tampering with consumer products. However, defense attorney Clark Birdsall told jurors that there was no way to prove that Behrouz Nahidmobarekeh's actions would have harmed anyone.

"It's OK to be angry at the defendant. I am. But you've got to follow the law," Birdsall said.

Customers had complained that the fresh-baked items smelled and tasted like manure. Nahidmobarekeh said in a statement that he sprinkled the material on the baked goods because store personnel mistreated him.

The video showed Nahidmobarekeh take a bag from his pocket and toss what he said was feces on baked items. The video showed him repeat the action several times.

In the statement, Nahidmobarekeh said he took his own feces and dried it in the sun. He then used a cheese grater to grind the material into smaller portions.

A jury convicted Nahidmobarekeh, who now faces punishment ranging from probation, to two to 20 years in prison.

Here's what I found out about this person. Looks as if he came over from Iran on what I assume was with a student visa to go to college. However, I don't know if he over stayed the visa, or became a legal resident afterward. I figure since he came from Iran he was probably able to get legal status.

Behrouz Nahidmobarekeh -- defendant elected to testify. He was admonished as to his right not testify, and he knowingly waived his right and wished to address the jury. D is from Iran. He has lived here for 28 years. He came to the US for higher education. He attended Richland Community College, but did not finish. In the last few years, he became addicted to heroin and crack cocaine. All of the money he earned went for drugs. He became paranoid due to the drugs. He got into a disagreement with the Fiesta Mart bakery employees. The issue was that there were flies in bakery, and the staff would not do anything about it. He also did not like the fact that the tongs did not reach to the top of the cookie cabinet. He just wanted to teach them a lesson. He did not think that the small amount of feces would cause anyone harm. He admitted to using drugs while on duty driving his cab. He carried the 7" knife in his cab for protection, because driving a cab is very dangerous. After his arrest for the knife, he switched to carrying a wooden bat. 10:26

You cant wash a carton of vanilla ice-cream with supposidly chocolate chips, can you? Or how about that easy to heat microwave sausage that smells perculiar? I would just make sure, that anyone who was in 'food preparation' was a 'happy camper'!

Oh great, kids. I can just see all of us going through the grocery store smelling the food. Or taking a magnifying glass with us when we shop!! People are going to think we have gone off the deep end!!

I'm not eating out any more. It's not worth the risk of the unkown illegal immigrant's latest grievance or their retaliatory actions. There are other "fluids" that you could not smell, like "spit"...or that you could not see like "urine" or "snot" or "boogers" or "toe jam" or "S E M E N".

IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!
