Lack of pardon for agents ripped

Lack of pardon for agents ripped
    By Jerry Seper

Several members of Congress derided President Bush yesterday for not including former U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean among the 29 pardons that he issued this week.

Rep. Duncan Hunter, California Republican and presidential candidate, said that “two names were conspicuously missingâ€

    I BEG YOUR PARDON....

It is so arrogant, disgusting, ludicrous and un-American that 2 border agents are in jail as political held citizens for doing their jobs.
    AND YET....

The Hispanic civil liberties open border groups (if you want to call them this) have not once come to Ramos and Compean's defense...even though they are Hispanic and have been prosecuted by lies and deceit.
    SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE:?

The Hispanic civil liberties open border groups, President, most democrats and the illegals they represent, all have the same rhetoric speech "don't separate our families".
THEY SEPARATED THEIR OWN FAMILIES AND LEFT THEM BEHIND.

But these Hispanic groups aren't concerned about Ramos and Compean's families; their children and wives won't be able to hear from them on Christmas.
They are for Hispanic Americans too ...RIGHT?
    WHAT IS WRONG HERE?

How long did it take scooter to be pardoned:?
    I BEG YOUR PARDON....

    This is
Egregious, unacceptable with they're monarchical arrogance and disregard for citizens.

Drug dealers pardoned while Border Patrol agents remain in prison

    Sher Zieve
    December 13, 2007

My disappointment with our current political and governmental administration reached an all-time high, today. The reason? While US Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean are left to languish in jail for actually doing their jobs, President Bush has opted to pardon 8 (count them — eight) drug dealers. Note: Was this to ensure that the drug dealers' families and friends would have an even "jollier" time this time of year than they would have without certain 'products'? One can only surmise.

And as continues to be the case, Agents Ramos and Compean were ignored; much the same as the building of a protective southern border security fence is being substantively ignored by our government "leaders"; leaders who are not only fighting against US citizens but, appear to be hoping that We-the-People will — at some point — forget about the border fence entirely. Hmmm. Drug dealers are now allowed, by our government. to infect our society and way of life with their viruses — even encouraged to do so with these latest pardons — while US citizens are punished for fighting against them. Could this be the real reason Compean and Ramos were prosecuted by US Attorney Johnny Sutton? Were they and are we being sent the unambiguous dictate that drug dealers must be allowed to ply their trade — which includes crossing our southern border to do so — without any interference from local and federal law enforcement and any of the US citizenry? Is this a warning to We-the-People to "back off" or also face jail time? Sure sounds like it. But, apparently, this mandate applies to only a certain class of drugs and their suppliers.

Our government — via a US Senate subcommittee — is on its way to taking over control of Major League Baseball with one of its seemingly endless investigations; this time over steroid use. So — per our government — steroid use by the players in baseball will now carry a prison sentence with the full weight of the US government behind it. Note: No Senate investigations are currently reported to be ongoing with regards to other professional sports. Steroids are already banned. But, apparently, other highly addictive drugs — which impact the general population areas of the country — are allowed and even supported. And again — drug dealers are being pardoned while those attempting to stop them are being jailed under increasingly trumped up charges based upon seemingly false evidence or the suppression of said "evidence's" lack of substantiation. This is scary, folks.

There are so many things wrong with these actions that it boggles the mind. We now appear to have a government that is overtly fighting against the people who elected its members to fight for them. With an increasingly sickening certainty and inevitability, those whom we elect to political office can't seem to become elites quickly enough. These "elites" are the ones who have — or will soon have — the means to protect themselves from their own ill-conceived decisions; decisions that will allow this cream-of-the-crop class to remain in their selective and superior positions while the rest of us must now fight for our lives. While these now privileged politicians pass legislation designed to better themselves, their families and supporters, the rest of us are left to fend for ourselves against said politicians who have now seized power away from us. When criminals are let out of jail, those trying to stop criminals are placed into or forced to remain in jail and members of the US Congress use their color of their authority and power to advance their own political and personal agendas, We-the-People are in tremendous peril. And so is our country. Either fight back against them or prepare yourselves to become a member of the great and unwashed masses.

The time required to save the country may no longer be on our side.

The White House has left unexplained the president's decisions to grant pardons to drug dealers, carjackers, thieves and a moonshiner, but deny the same mercy to two former U.S. Border Patrol agents each serving more than a decade in prison for shooting at a fleeing drug smuggler.

The issue arose during a news briefing at the White House, held by Dana Perino, the president's spokeswoman.

"Both Republicans and the Democrat Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee have now deplored the president's pardoning of drug dealers and carjackers while refusing to pardon two U.S. Border Patrol agents who shot a Mexican drug smuggler who disobeyed their order to stop…" asked WND's correspondent at the White House, Les Kinsolving.

"I answered this question," said Perino.

    "And my question," said Kinsolving.

"I answered this question," said Perino.

"Wait a minute, I haven't asked it," Kinsolving said.

"I'm sure it's the same one," Perino responded.

"Would the White House like to respond to Chairman Delahunt, as well as Congressmen Hunter and Rohrabacher, or will you stiff-arm them with a 'no comment'?" he asked.

"What I'll do is refer you to the briefing on Monday when Kathleen asked the same question," Perino said.

"Not exactly the same," Kinsolving said.

Perino's response earlier to questions about pardons, referencing another case, was, "We don't speculate on any possible pardons."

As WND reported earlier, the White House has released its list of 29 pardons granted traditionally around Christmas time, and they included carjackers, drug dealers, thieves and a moonshiner.

But not Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who were convicted of firing their guns at a fleeing drug smuggler while they were protecting the integrity of the U.S. border with Mexico.

However, Rep. William Delahunt, D-Mass., has launched a campaign to assemble a House resolution urging Bush to provide those pardons, and he says more than two dozen members already have signed on as sponsors.

"I am completely confident we will be able to pass a bipartisan resolution that includes support from the right and the left," Delahunt said. He said he expects action soon after Congress reconvenes after the Christmas break.k

"Members in the House feel strongly the excessively long sentences Ramos and Compean are serving is a miscarriage of justice," he explained. "We have strong bipartisan agreement in the House that President Bush should immediately commute the sentences of Ramos and Compean to the time they have already served."

Ramos and Compean are serving 11- and 12-year sentences, respectively, for shooting after fleeing drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila in an incident on the Texas border with Mexico on Feb. 17, 2005.

Delahunt objected strongly to the mandatory minimum 10-year sentence Ramos and Compean are serving under 18 U.S.C. Section 924(c), a law Congress passed to increase the prison terms of federal felons, including bank robbers, who carried a weapon in the commission of their crimes.

"It just isn't right, period," Delahunt said. "In this case there is bipartisan agreement in the House that Ramos and Compean have already served enough time."

As WND reported, their case already is on appeal, and a ruling from the 5th Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals is expected within weeks.

In another question, Kinsolving asked about the reports of drug use coming from Sen. Barack Obama's past.

"Sen. Clinton's national co-chairman Bill Shaheen has just announced that Republicans will work hard to discover new aspects of Sen. Obama's youthful drug problems, which were repeatedly detailed by Shaheen. And my question: Since Clinton's spokeswoman Kathleen Strand announced that Shaheen's comments were not authorized or condoned by the campaign in any way, does the head of the Republican Party wonder why there were no reports of Shaheen being fired for this smear of Republicans and Senator Obama?"

"The president is not following the 2008 campaign that closely," Perino said.

Hours after the news briefing, Clinton officials also announced they had accepted Shaheen's resignation.

Why does Boosh have to be the one to issue the pardon? Is it because this has gone through federal courts?

Why can't the governor of the state of the "crime" issue the pardon?

    Any thoughts on this .....
