Phoenix civil rights activist Cecelia Maldonado, the leader of Chicanos Unidos Arizona, will travel to Washington DC this week to present the SREA ACT (Senior Relief Entitlement Act) to the Obama administration. The proposed act would give amnesty to Latinos over the age of 50 who learn English and can prove that they attended a school while they were in the United States for at least six months.

“Latino senior citizens are an at-risk population. They are discriminated against because of their race and because of their age. The Obama administration promised immigration reform and he needs to keep his promise. “

Immigration reform has been a hot topic in Phoenix and the rest of the country. It is expected that Obama will pull for a backdoor amnesty program within the next year.
