News Advisory:

The Board of Directors of The Latino Coalition (TLC) will release the results of the 2006 national survey of Latino adults on Tuesday, October 3rd at 11 a.m. during the 2006 Small Business Economic Summit to be held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C. The TLC Board will also announce the list of endorsements for the 2006 election cycle.

"Our survey has become the most reliable and accurate study on Hispanic political and consumer behavior in the U.S. This survey, which measures the political and consumer trends and behavior of Latino adults, will be of critical importance to analysts as we enter the last month of the 2006 election cycle," said TLC President Robert Deposada. "The 2004 National Latino Survey was dead-on accurate in predicting the Latino vote in the 2004 elections We predicted the nine-point spread between Senator Kerry and President Bush, while all other Hispanic surveys predicted a Kerry win of over 30 points. The results of this year's survey offer similar surprising results and highlight the future trends of Latino adults and Latino voters in the U.S."

TLC will also announce the list of Endorsements for the 2006 election cycle. These two major announcements will be held during the 2006 Small Business Economic Summit. Speakers at the Summit include: Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt, Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, Wellpoint CEO Larry Glasscock, New York Life COO Ted Mathas and U.S. Senator George Allen, among others.

TLC President Robert Deposada and pollster John McLaughlin will brief reporters on the results, and provide a comparison for patterns and results for the last five years. 1,000 Hispanic adults were interviewed for this survey from September 26-30, 2006. The margin of error of this survey is plus 3.1.

Subjects to be addressed during the Summit include, improving access to health insurance, retirement security, trade, immigration, tax policy, and the looming crisis in our southern border with the alliance of Venezuela and Argentina.

WHEN: Tuesday, October 3rd at 11 a.m.
