'Leniency' toward illegal immigrants could backfire

As we hear of more and more crimes committed by illegal immigrants, I would like to relate my personal experience.

In the 1990s, I sent business to a Mexican national who did some of the best automotive upholstery work that I have seen. I did not know at the time he was here illegally. He eventually committed three DUIs - a felony. Instead of jail, he was sent back to Mexico. That should have been the end, but he came back to Mississippi.

Then, in 2002, he killed the father of three children in a head-on collision! He was sent back to Mexico instead of to jail.

He should have served 25 years in jail, but they just deported him again.

When we give illegal immigrants this leniency, why should we expect them to obey our laws? I have no idea where this man is now but I would bet it is not Mexico!
