    No defense for this
I am sick of hearing from defenders of illegal immigration. Yes, this country was founded by immigrants, who poured in from everywhere and made great contributions, but most of the migration to this country was legal. These people created their own communities, kept their traditions and assimilated into mainstream society. We did not have to spend billions printing everything in two languages or providing cradle-to-grave health care for them. And immigrants in the early days didn't send billions of dollars back home.

Today's illegals cost more than they contribute. Period. Our question should be why is the Bush administration so unwilling to face this problem and what kind of "under the table" deal has our president made with Vicente Fox? No Defense

    Undocumented logic
Re: "Outlaws or Patriots? The Minutemen are un-American vigilantes, and their aggression will only make a dangerous situation worse," by Jorge Ramos, Sunday Points.

Mr. Ramos extols the benefits of undocumented immigrants and is critical of the Minutemen and says, "Immigrants overall contribute much more to the economy of this country than they take away." Since we have 11 million illegal aliens from Mexico and other Third World countries, why doesn't he encourage having 11 million illegal immigrants from Europe come in and contribute? The Minutemen are only undocumented border-watchers just doing a job, helping keep the unwanted from entering our country. Outlaws or Patriots
A better question would be, if illegal aliens are such a positive influence, why doesn't their homeland want them anymore? Why doesn't Jorge propose that these 11 million go contribute to their own homeland? Why do I ask? Because we don't want them either. Why not? Because they DON'T PAY THEIR OWN WAY! THEY'RE A BURDEN FOR US!
