Good for the U.S. Marines. In my opinion, a known lawbreaker shouldn't be allowed to join the military.

Absolutely NOT. They are only joining because they want the BENEFITS the military offers them in all likelihood.
As to the recruitment shortfalls--what they are FAILING to tell us is that they LOWERED the standards by a good bit in order to meet the goals and STILL fell short. Now, it doesn't make me feel too comfortable knowing that they have lowered standards for the people who are supposed to be protecting me. They say they've dropped a LOT of the requirements. OK the article says he is illegal right? So why does not ICE find him and deport him? I know there was a INS program that allowed some central American illegals to stay HERE and apply for residency if their wife was a citizen but I think this program called TPS ended? So if the article is correct, you have an illegal who should NOT even be here in the country since most illegals are required to return home to start the legal process.
I could be wrong but I believe that any anchor baby born to illegal parents today cannot apply to get their parents residency until the anchor kid is 18 and the parents are supposed to RETURN to their country of origin to start the process? They cannot remain here except for something like this TPS program above?
Of course, we know the INS BHS wil do nothing anyway.....

I think that's a great idea, JackSmith. After all, it would sure make it more difficult for him to sue the DOD if he was sent back to Mexico.
