COLUMBUS, Ga. -- A man busted for loud music at Peachtree Mall on Saturday was found to be in the country illegally, Columbus police said.

According to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, an officer heard the suspect, identified in records as 32-year-old Roberto Santis, before he saw him around 4:45 p.m. He asked the suspect to leave the mall, though he kept driving around and playing his music loudly, reports state.

The suspect told the officer that the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban he was driving wasn’t his, though a records check revealed it was in the suspect’s name. The suspect then said he was waiting for his girlfriend, who was inside the mall, and that’s why he kept driving around, police said. Police found her in another part of town.
