The League of United Latin American Citizens, (LULAC) has a way to make sure minority votes count in the redistricting battle in Texas.

LULAC has its own redistricting plan. A three-judge panel will decide whether state lawmakers will draw the map.

On Tuesday, LULAC national president Rosa Rosales said they're pushing its first proposal, known as Plan A. It redraws seven districts, two more than the state's plan. Rosales said that prevents the minority vote from being diluted.

"It's not necessarily that we would say that we would wanted the minorities voted it. It's that the minorities would have a chance to choose who they want," she said.

In LULAC's Plan B, political lines in Hays County would not be redrawn.
