WILLSBORO, N.Y. —A 19-year-old from Quebec was accused of being a stowaway in a train in Willsboro, police said.

Eric Simon Jalbert of Verdun, Quebec, was arrested Tuesday morning after he was found in one of the cars of a southbound Canadian Pacific train, police said.

Jalbert allegedly entered the United State illegally and had pepper spray and a pair of bolt cutters, police said. Jalbert told investigators he used the bolt cutters to cut through a fence so he could get on the train in Montreal.

He was charged with trespassing, possession of a weapon and possession of burglary tools.

Jalbert was arraigned and released on $500 bail and turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol. He is due in court Nov. 6.
