An undocumented immigrant from Guatemala was arrested this week for allegedly molesting a young girl over a five-year span.

The investigation into 26-year-old Luis Arturo Polanco began in August based on allegations of sexual offenses committed against a girl "by a relative who was living in the same residence," according to the Simi Valley Police Department.

The sexual acts allegedly began when the girl was 6 and continued until she was 11, police said.

Police did not elaborate in their statement on the relationship between Polcano and the girl.

Polanco was arrested Tuesday at work in the 4600 block of Industrial Street in Simi Valley.

He was arrested on suspicion of lewd acts on a child and oral copulation of a person under 14.
