Man arrested for sexually assaulting two teens

Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne J. Forrest and North Plainfield Chief William Parenti announced that the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit, in conjunction with the North Plainfield Police Department, arrested Edin Antonio Pazos-Cordon (a.k.a Tony), 24, on two counts of second-degree Sexual Assault and two counts of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The arrest occurred on Friday, Sept. 28 in North Plainfield. C.O., 15, and M.D., 14, disclosed in separate interviews that they both were sexually assaulted by Pazos-Cordon.

Forrest also stated that Pazos-Cordon provided a formal statement to detectives regarding his involvement in these incidents. Pazos-Cordon also acknowledged to detectives his illegal status within the United States. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was later notified of the arrest.

Pazos-Cordon was lodged in the Somerset County Jail with bail set at
$150,000 cash only by state Superior Court Judge Thomas H. Dilts.
