    Man imprisoned for threatening trooper with handgun

    ANACONDA — A man who threatened a Montana Highway Patrol officer with a handgun during a traffic stop has been sentenced to five years in prison.

    Hugo Guadalupe Zepeda Briseno, 23, was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to felony assault on a peace officer, along with misdemeanor reckless driving and obstructing a peace officer.

    Why not charge him now and sentence him rather than waiting until he is released? He could simply be transferred from one prison to another.
