U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents deported a Mexican national, who was wanted for a double murder in Mexico on Monday afternoon at the Gateway International Bridge.

Amid heavy security, Carlos Garcia Hernandez was seen shackled and wearing body armor as he was escorted by ICE agents towards the Mexican side of the bridge where he was turned over to Mexican authorities.

Garcia Hernandez, 19, is wanted in Mexico for the murder of two women during a robbery in March, said an ICE press release. He is a known member of the Houston area gang Houstonecq and was arrested in Houston by police and ICE special agents on Dec 11.

The press release said Garcia Hernandez has previous convictions for possession of marijuana, escaping from custody and driving with a false license. ICE previously deported him on November 2007.

Three other individuals involved in the murder are already serving prison sentences in Mexico, said the release.

"ICE will continue to cooperate with Mexican authorities to capture and return dangerous fugitives who flee to the United States to escape justice," said Michael Pitts, San Antonio field office director for ICE Detention and Removal Operations.

IMO, it's unfortunate that Mexico doesn't have the death penalty. Murderers deserve to get what they give!
