Martha McSally Floats Idea Of Building A Wall Between Arizona And California
Posted By Chris White On 11:07 AM 03/21/2018
A Republican lawmaker from Arizona wants to build a wall separating her state from California to protect citizens from the effects of Golden State’s sanctuary city.
“As we look in Arizona, we often look into the dangers of the southern border,” Rep. Martha McSally said Tuesday night at the White House during a round-table discussion about “sanctuary cities.” She announced earlier this year a bid to replace Republican Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona, who is retiring in November.
“But if these dangerous policies continue out of California, we might need to build a wall between California and Arizona as well to keep these dangerous criminals out of our state,” said McSally, who will be running against former Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio and former Republican state Sen. Kelli Ward.
McSally’s comment comes less than a month after the Department of Justice sued the state of California on Feb.6 for using so-called sanctuary laws to violate aspects of the U.S Constitution.
The Trump administration alleged at the time three California laws are obstructing enforcement of federal immigration law and harm public safety. President Donald Trump has escalated a protracted battle against city ordinances that protect illegal aliens.
The lawsuit is targeting three California laws.
The first one prevents employers from sharing records about legal status or allowing immigration agents into “nonpublic” business spaces without a warrant. The second gives the state’s attorney general power to investigate facilities where immigrant detainees are housed, and the third law being challenged dramatically limits the scope of cooperation between federal and local law enforcement with respect to the immigration status of individuals in California’s custody.

She has a point and is not the first person to mention a wall that includes the California border. As the exodus of low income people from California escalates, the illegals that come there freely across the CA border, in search of greener pastures , enter the rest of the country freely as well. California has turned itself into the launch pad of illegal immigration into the entire country. IMO

Where else do illegal immigrants enter the US, other than the Mexico border?
Most illegal immigrants come to us through airports, courtesy of visitor and student/temporary worker visas which they overstay- they simply let the visa lapse, and do not return home. It’s nice here, so they stay.
Some are, indeed, “brown”, coming from the Middle East; the most representation currently entering the US are from Asia. The most living inside the US right now are from Mexico and Central/South America, a relic of 20 or so years ago, when we had a booming economy; they got here and stayed, starting businesses and raising their families. Illegal crossing from the south has fallen off sharply since 2008, and the economic ‘crisis’, while it has risen nearly as sharply from Asia.
Narrowing the discussion to only Mexican nationals, a 2015 study performed by demographers of the
University of Texas at San Antonio and the University of New Hampshire found that immigration from Mexico; both legal and illegal, peaked in 2003 and that from the period between 2003 and 2007 to the period of 2008 to 2012, immigration from Mexico decreased 57%. The dean of the College of Public Policy of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Rogelio Saenz, states that lower birth rates and the growing economy in Mexico slowed emigration, creating more jobs for Mexicans. Saenz also states that Mexican immigrants are no longer coming to find jobs but to flee from violence, noting that the majority of those escaping crime "are far more likely to be naturalized U.S. citizens".
