Sunday letters: Illegal immigrants return to Mexico

Sunday letters: Illegal immigrants return to Mexico

    Much blame to go around

Re: "Illegal equals injustice," by Gloria Miller and "Don't grant parents citizenship," by Paula Baughman, Wednesday Letters.

I am trying to understand why people like Ms. Miller and Ms. Baughman are making it seem as if only the Mexicans are at fault for illegal immigration.

There are too many to blame, too many for someone who was lucky enough not to have to go through this to understand. Americans are the lucky ones to have just been born here without any problems, unless, of course, you are of color.

Please, do your homework and find out what will happen to our economy once we have gotten rid of the Mexicans.

    Respect for Mexican laws only?

Re: "Mexicans leaving under duress – Economy, enforcement cited as consulates see sharp rise in returnees," July 5 news story.

Does anyone else see the irony of the story regarding illegal immigrants returning to Mexico?

While it appears they aren't too concerned about providing documentation or following the rule of law in this country, they are concerned enough to get documentation for their children to enter Mexican schools upon their return.

Is this because the Mexican government actually enforces its sovereignty? And, if that is the case, why do activists persist in seeing it as a crime for our borders and our laws to be enforced?

People who are here legally should have nothing to worry about, but those who skirt the law need to understand that we do have laws and that, just like in their own country, they need to be enforced.

    Ellen Kudlicki, Carrollton

    Crocodile tears here

Pardon me. I just can't muster up the pity for the family leaving the U.S. to return to Mexico. They have lived here 10 years. During that time they used the roads, post office, parks, lakes and anything else paid for by U.S. citizens. Here, when someone uses something they have not paid for, we call that theft.

So what if all illegal immigrants return? We won't have to pay for more highways they use, larger facilities crowded by them or many other things illegals think they have a right to use.

    Susie Harrison, Rockwall

    I'm not sorry either

Are we supposed to feel sorry about Mexican illegal immigrants going back to Mexico? The vast majority of Americans would say no. Any person who breaks the law should feel duress.

You mentioned the American dream. My American dream, as a legal American citizen, includes a nation free of the weight of illegal immigration. Mexico is responsible for providing for its citizens. Not us.

Amazing. We Americans are now called "racists" for wanting our laws enforced. Foreigners who break the law are called "victims" and politicians like the felony-pardoning Bill Clinton are hailed as heroes because they teach Blacks and Hispanics to hate white people as part of some rigged (and very racist) "Civil Rights Movement" whose sole purpose is to take "Rights" away from citizens.

    Alma! Great Question!

I have in fact done my homework, you moron.

EVERYTHING WILL GET BETTER ONCE THE LAW IS ACTUALLY ENFORCED REGARDING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!

Less murder, more jobs, fewer welfare cheats, fewer DUI's, less drugs, no more &$^@#% press two for your miserable Spanish, no more mentally ill pro-Mexican politicians, no more La Raza...

I take issue with the framing of the problem:
Please, do your homework and find out what will happen to our economy once we have gotten rid of the Mexicans.
The problem is much more complex and important to just focus on economic concerns. The implications for the cohesiveness and integrity of the country are at stake too... (eg. I don't want people here that are only here to make a quick buck who care nothing about allegiance to the nation and respect for our laws and culture).

Really! Well how well is the economy doing right now with 20-30 million illegal invaders currently squatting in this country???

There is no merit to the "economic argument" these people try to advance and use as a scare tactic if their illegal invaders were to be removed from this country.
