McCain: Border security before immigration reform
This story should be titled: "McCain still supports mass amnesty after the borders are (politically) claimed to have been secured."

McCain: Border security before immigration reform
Tuesday, April 29, 2008; Posted: 05:28 PM
Washington, Apr 29, 2008 (EFE via COMTEX) -- -- By Teresa Bouza. ).- Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain said in an interview with Efe that his priority on immigration if he is elected will be border security.
At the same time, the senator from Arizona repeated his commitment to a comprehensive immigration reform, whose failure last year in Congress he attributes to voters' being more concerned about security.
"First we have to secure the borders," he said.
He pointed out that once that problem is solved, "we can move towards temporary-worker programs and face up to the issue of the 12 million people who are here illegally," McCain said.
Referring to the undocumented immigrants, he said that their path towards legalization should be based on the principle that "people who came here legally should have priority over those who arrived as illegals."
He said that in any case it is necessary to deal with the situation in a "humane and compassionate" way.
Turning to foreign policy, McCain said that as president, he would only restore diplomatic relations with Cuba and end the decades-long U.S. economic embargo against the island if the Havana government held free elections.
The senator dismissed the possibility of establishing a dialogue with the Raul Castro government in response to a process of economic reforms similar to those of China and Vietnam, two communist regimes with which the United States has full diplomatic and trade relations.
"I will initiate a dialogue after there are free elections, the political prisoners are freed and humanitarian non-governmental organizations exist and can operate," McCain said, adding that such reforms were essential to ending "the oppression of the Cuban people."
Speaking of other topics, the 71-year-old senator, who would be the oldest president to enter the White House, predicted that the "decisive" fact in November will be the economy, followed by national security.
McCain said he was confident that his record, vision and plan of action will win him the Hispanic vote and was pleased that an overwhelming majority of Arizona Latinos backed him during his last campaign for reelection to the Senate.

And how can any American expect ANY future border enforcement or immigration enforcement once McCain, Clinton, or Obama turns 20 million illegal aliens into voters?

I can only hope that nobody is stupid enough to believe this stuff. I mean, he's the same guy that tried to shove that last bill through before anybody could even read it "so it wouldn't get all bogged down in politics."

I am a 45 year+ Republican--
I am a 45 year+ Republican--I will not vote for McCain. I cannot. He is a globalist and a disgrace to his country and his uniform. Please don't tell me about letting the Dems win. Don't tell me about Supreme Court appointments. My God and my conscience tells me that I will vote for anyone who runs who supports the Constitution and the sovereignty of the USA. The Democratic candidates are lying hypocrites with socialistic intentions. McCain is a lying, open border advocate with no intention of supporting our sovereignty. The difference with McCain is he is supposed to be one of us. He is betraying us. You, of course will make your own decision, but I ask this---"Why do you think McCain will pick good Conservatives for the Supreme Court?? Other than Iraq, what has he shown that proves that?? He will select whoever his elite friends tell him to.". And why does he have "MY friend", Juan Hernandez on his campaign staff? (NAU?? Slave labor??)
Will having a President who will gradually withdraw our troops from Iraq do any worse harm than an Open Borders Globalist (see SPP/NAU)??
Of course the key is in our Congress. They will make most of the laws and decisions. (Your current President is a globalist).
I sincerely believe that Hillary. Obama and McCain have identical agendas regarding Open Borders.
Lastly, McCain is traitor to conservatism--at least we knew what platfoms the other two would try to bring, after all they are Democrats.
I will cast my vote for any candidate, Libertarian, Constitution Party or any except the Green Party, (I disrespectfully believe they are insane.).
The candidate must promise to fix illegal immigration, get the 14th amendment reinterpreted to its original intentionand put American sovereignty and the Constitution above all.
I submit to Alipac members, respectfully, that is our right and that is what is owed to us as citizens of America.
America has so few politicians with cojones and integrity it is tragic.
We let the best get away and now we are in deep trouble.
John McCain--Judas goat!
God bless and save America!
