However, McCain's right in that Congress should soon hold hearings on what we need to do in order to fix the 14th. Hopefully, the hearings will show that all that is needed is for Congress to pass a simple law or laws that deal with the proper way to administer and enforce the 14th. In other words, quit giving away billions of dollars to anchor babies and their illegal parents, and no more "back-door US citizenship".
However, I suspect that Congress, and other public officials, are too embarassed to admit that they've gotten it wrong the past 60 years or so. This is why they keep on repeating the misleading notion on the supposed need to change the Constitution.
If we're able to vote-out a lot of incumbent, corrupt, members of Congress this November, there should be less of an embarassment factor. Then the new Congress will have a better chance of fixing the 14th.
