MCSO deputies seize 50 pounds of meth valued at $1.5 million in Phoenix

Two men were arrested after deputies seized 50 pounds of methamphetamines from a clandestine meth lab in Phoenix on Tuesday, Maricopa County sheriff's officials said.

The drugs have an estimated street value of $1.5 million, officials said.

Saul Zuniga-Leon, 23, and Alejandro Mendoza-Enriquez, 35, were booked into Fourth Avenue Jail on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of equipment or chemicals for the purpose of manufacturing and a dangerous drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a news release issued by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies also seized $25,000, a handgun, three vehicles and one all-terrain vehicle from a home in the 9200 block of West Sheridan Street, said Brandon Jones, a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio said the Drug Suppression Task Force received information from the Phoenix Police Department that led sheriff's deputies to the clandestine lab, according the news release.
