Members of Minuteman Project Shot at Near Border
Members of the Minuteman Project have seen firsthand just how dangerous their mission is becoming, after an incident on Saturday night along the California-Mexico border.
A California Minuteman leader says about 20 volunteer border-watchers were apparently shot at, reports KFI Radio.
Minuteman Project member James Chase says the group in Jacomba heard five shots coming from the Mexican side of the border on Saturday night and then "saw two guys with AK-47s standing at the fence."
"We didn't discharge our weapons or fire back because we would have received that AK-47 fire. We just pulled our people out of the area," Chase said.
Chase believes the shooters were "probably drug-runners who wanted the Minutemen to leave."
The San Diego Sheriff's Department says it got a call about the shooting but "didn't find any evidence."
Scouting -- as well as regular border-patrol duty -- continues in advance of the next Minuteman Project activity, now set for October.
Minuteman Project leaders plan for the October event to be significantly larger than the last one at the Arizona-Mexico border, as more concerned American citizens join and support the growing effort.

"didn't find any evidence"....so what....20 eye witness accounts from 20 American Citizens isn't "evidence"? Okay...well, at least now we know where that local law enforcement agency stands on evidence along with others in California like Baldwin Park and other areas across the nation like Denver, Phoenix, Houston, Philadelphia, and Northern Virginia part of the greater DC Area.
I think American Citizens will soon realize WE are alone on this issue. I saw something about National Law Enforcement Agencies meeting in Washington to discuss their having a greater role in illegal alien matters. On the one hand, that could be optimistic, but on the other it will be tied to federal funding through Homeland Security that will soon be part of the Security Pact with Canada and Mexico and the mission quite different than what we would expect.

Yep....that is usually what "no evidence" to support a claim means. In court, eye witness testimony is the best evidence and next are "caught on film". Hey!! Maybe the Minute Men need to carry video cameras...naaaah, the Brown Berets would just steal them.
