Yeah, I'm just not aware of any federal program of federal money going to states based on Census population counts. There must be a bunch of sneaky programs we're not aware of, because it's none of the big ones we know about. Education is based on head count at school every day, not on the Census count. Health care and welfare and SS and SDI and SSI and all of that is based on eligibility per person, not how many people are in the state. Gas taxes are based on how much fuel is sold. Transportation funds are based on individual projects and traffic needs, not Census population. HUD and block grants, you have to apply for those, but maybe the block is awarded to states based on Census populations, but no one gets it until they have an actual project that qualifies, regardless of the population count. EPA grants aren't based on population. Law enforcement grants out of DOJ might be, but that would still be weird.

I hope somebody from the Representative's office posts a list of the these 130 programs. Would very much like to see them. In any event, whatever they are, I totally support limiting them to counts of citizens and legal residents.
