Bus companies cancel routes in Tamaulipas

CIUDAD VICTORIA — Three out of six bus companies that provide passenger service in Tamaulipas have suspended certain routes — mainly from Ciudad Victoria to Matamoros and Reynosa — to avoid going through San Fernando.

Grupo Senda, Omnibus de México and Noreste are the companies that said they had discontinued service to the two border cities.

Three other companies, TranspaÃ*s, Estrella Blanca and ADO, continue to cover the routes.

Most passengers are opting to travel during the day in order to avoid going at night through San Fernando, where there have been reports of passengers being kidnapped.
