Mexican National Indicted on Weapons Smuggling Charges

MCALLEN - A Mexican national is indicted on weapons smuggling charges.

The three count indictment alleges Juan Sauceda of Reynosa attempted to unlawfully export weapons from the United States into Mexico.

In November he was stopped at the port of entry in Hidalgo. Inside his car, Customs officers found 10 semi-automatic firearms, 87 firearms magazines and more than 1,500 rounds of ammunition.

If convicted, Sauceda faces up to 20 years in prison.
