Mexican nationals apprehended; one suffers heat stroke

DULZURA – A 30-year-old Mexican national who was suffering from heat stroke after being apprehended by the Border Patrol was taken by helicopter to a local hospital for treatment, authorities said.

The man was in a group of six Mexican nationals who were apprehended Thursday by the Border Patrol's Air Mobile Unit in Copper Canyon on Otay Mountain. The unit is deployed in rugged areas.

The man collapsed about noon as the agents were taking the group out of the canyon on foot. He was transported by the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department's Copter One for emergency treatment.
