Two men arrested for trying to sneak across the Canadian-U.S. border near Abbotsford appear to be part of a growing cohort of migrant workers coming illegally into Canada, police say.

U.S. border patrol officers spotted the two, who are from Mexico and said they were migrant workers, about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night in a rural, heavily foliaged area south of Abbotsford’s Gladwin Road and suspected that they were trying to sneak across the border. One managed to break free and fled north, leaving behind a duffel bag containing a loaded handgun.

    Good catch guys!

I have repeatedly gone to the OJC (ONT. Jockey Club) with complaints about illegals on the backstretch at Woodbine, I've gone to the OPP (ONT Provincial Police) and my Tribal Police. They are doing the same things up in Canada that they were successful with in the US. The only people who spent any amount of time with me taking my complaints were the Tribal Police. THEY were highly concerned about illegals trying to pass themselves off as Native, and trying to buy my Status Card. I know several other Natives working on the track have been approached too, THEIR Tribal Police were the only ones who took them serious too. Now the Mohawk,Blackfoot and Cree nations are on alert for fake Status Cards; they are also on the alert for illegals moving in on the Indian Reservations. At least the Tribal Police Forces co-operate with each other, we take OUR Sovereignity very serious.
