TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- A 23-year-old Mexican woman with three American-born children, including one just three weeks old, will return voluntarily to Mexico after what supporters call a harrowing experience with authorities during a traffic stop.
Miriam Aviles-Reyes, an illegal immigrant, and the human rights group Derechos Humanos say a Tucson police officer was abusive and called the Border Patrol without necessary cause.
Tucson police spokesmen deny the officer did anything wrong and say the officer was following departmental policy.
Aviles-Reyes went into labor during the traffic stop, and her husband, who was also an illegal immigrant, was deported immediately - before she could deliver her son the next day.
Supporters of Aviles-Reyes say she was given the option of agreeing to a voluntary departure or facing a 10-year ban from entering the country.

She would rather not have the 10 year ban because she can go through the revolving door.

If she leaves voluntarily and then re-enters illegally, would she be charged with a felony?

Being here illegallyand working, driving without a valid driver's license and using fake ID are all crimes and they should be punished for breaking them. There should be no exceptions because the law is the same for everyone. When police officers pass the academy and become sworn, they take an oath to enforce the laws of the land so the officer(s) involved did as they are required to. Many police officers who encounter illegals would gladly call immigrattion on them but in many cases their hands are tied. I have a friend who works in a city in Broward County who actually will drive illegals to the Border Patrol facility in the neighboring city. Personally what I do is find out from Miami Dade and other police department"s officers who can't ask immigration status or from calls my district gets and personally call ICE on them. These calls are mostly about day laborers and construction workers. I came here legally and struggled doing so and I will not allow illegals to get away with it if I can help it.

I don't suppose it would do any good to approach this woman with any form of logic...."This is our culture - fight for it. This is our flag - pick it up. This is our country - take it back." - Congressman Tom Tancredo

They also need to exercise some self control. I am so grossed out when I see them walking down the street with one in a stroller 3 more fighting over who is going to push the stroller, with the breedmare dragging along behind them with a belly full of yet another one due any minute.
