POLL: Should the MMP be allowed to patrol the Mexican border

Take LOTS and LOTS of NOTES GOP - you're gonna really need them come 2006.

    http://newscentral.tv/poll/qod.shtml

    .................................................. ............................

Do you think the Minuteman project should be allowed to patrol the border?

They call themselves the Minutemen but they're not waiting for the British to come. They're taking it upon themselves to patrol the very porous border between Arizona and Mexico. Mexican President Vincente Fox calls them migrant hunters and claims they're acting outside the law.

First: I do not see a Poll anywhere on this page.
    What poll? Where is it?

Second: What country are we in that we would have a poll on people exercising their Constitutional rights?

The Minuteman Project: Neighborhood Watch is not 1 bit different than and neighborhood watch group in any area. They only Watch. If they see anyone crossing the boder they call the Border Patrol with the information. Then the Border Patrol decides what to do.

No US citizen or Mexican citizen or citizen of any other nation can just wander across the border. That is illegal. There are legally designated crossing portals that were created just for people who want to cross US or Mexico's boder.

Is there some misunderstanding of the word ILLEGAL. It means to break the law and it does not change with your nation of origin or color of your skin or religion. Illegal is illegal.

I want a safe and sane and LEGAL society. Do you want an ILLEGAL one?

Could not find the referenced poll either. Seems to have changed since the link was posted. The site is rather confusing - I could not find reference to previous polls and/or results.

I sent an e-mail asking for information on the reported MMP poll.

UPDATE: E-mail received today gives poll results:
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    E-mail reply:

Morris Jones forwarded me a question you had regarding our NewsCentral.tv webpoll. Since we provide a new question each day, the previous day's question gets moved to a different link. To see the results and viewer comments from a previous day's question, you have to vote on today's question. I have copied below the results from the Minuteman poll. If you want to see them on our site, you will have to vote on today's question and it will take you to the results page. I hope this helps clear up any confusion.

    Thank you.

Do you think the Minuteman project should be allowed to patrol the border?

    89% Yes
    11% No

No. The U.S-Mexico Border is a very dangerous place to be. I don't believe they should be allowed to patrol the border because they will carry weapons and not all of them have good intentions. Also there are many drug dealers crossing the border and someone will get hurt.
    - Andy U. / Las vegas, NV

No. I think it is a job for homeland security and we should increase the border patrol. I don't approve of bounty hunters either.
    - Billy B. / South shore, KY

No. Many who consider our Sovereignty sacred and have taken oaths to Protect and defend against all enemies both foreign and domestic when they were part of the military still consider those oaths sacred as they were given to our Lord.
    - Don T. / Ogdensburg, WI

No. But I DO think the Border Patrol should be better budgeted and the fences built up.
    - John M. / Taylorsville, NC

No. We have enough lawful resources to patrol the border without resorting to vigilante terrorism.
    - Keith B. / Tuscaloosa, AL

No. They may have good intentions, but they are acting outside the law. If they are patroling land they own along the border that is differant, but it is up to the Border Patrol to handle this sort of thing. This sort of activity can only lead to serious problems.
    - Russell D. / Naples, NY

Yes. When I worked the border in the 1950's it was tight and many times necessary to shoot for various reasons
    - Alfred p. J. / Winchester, ID

Yes. If our own government can't protect us we have to to protect ourselves!!! God bless them!!!
    - Andrea A. / Cary, NC

Yes. I have been waiting for almost a year to get my visa to enter the US legally, to join my wife. If people want to enter the US, they can stand in line like the rest of us.
    - Art . / ,

Yes. The gov't does very little to control the borders. Someone,or somebody, needs to act.
    - Carl B. / Kernersville, N.

Yes. Yes we all need to patrol our boder. This is a government of and by the people the last time I checked.
    - Chesley K. / Bowling green, KY

Yes. Sobebodys got to do it. The U.S. Mexico border is only a line in the sand which is routinely ignored by those wanting the bonty of our country but are not willing to go through the legal process to get in.
    - David B. / Tuttle, OK

Yes. The Border Patrol is not allowed to aprehend illigals or drug trafficers as they should be. Politics is playing the major role in our so-called Homeland Security. It is the politics of money that controls the borders of the United States and not national security or national soveirgnty. Citizens must be allowed to assist in the safety and security of their homes.
    - Dennis b . / Ponca city, OK

Yes. We need to curb illegals from entering. If the government cant control the borders, private citizens have a right to
    - Ed G. / Burlington, WI

Yes. When the government refuses to protect you, do it yourself. It's not illegal to act as the eyes and ears for Border Patrol Officers. Just DO it!
    - Harry M. / Auburn, MI

Yes. The Govm't should encourage this and in fact they should ask for more volunteers. Imagine if this were Dec. 7th, 1941 and those invaders were Japanese.
    - Jack Y. / Camp verde, AZ

Yes. If the government is unable, or unwilling, to patrol our borders and keep them secure. Then the public should, and needs to, act.
    - Jeff G. / Centerburg, OH

Yes. The government won't do it..it HAS to be done by someone. Bless these volunteers..and God keep them safe.
    - Jody W. / Tyler, TX

Yes. It is up to the people to do what the government refuses to do. I'm ashamed of this government and PROUD of the Minutemen.
    - Lisa G. / Lemont, PE

Yes. Vincente Fox has never read the U.S. Constitution. Even if he were to take the time to read it, he would still make inflammatory statements. He has no moral Character.
    - Mike E. / Meadville, PA

Yes. Government won't do their job(s) so we have to.
    - Mike W. / Henderson, NE

Yes. The Bush crime family clearly refuses to do the job for which the president was hired. Therefore, it is up to the citizens to see that the borders are protected.
    - Phil S. / New port richey, FL

Yes. Most definitely. It's near their property, they are the ones to lose, and the illegal aliens are exactly that, illegal.
    - Ron W. / Bethel park, PA

Yes. If our country is not able to secure the border, and private citizens are willing to volenteer to fill a void I think that should be comended.
    - Terrance C. / Milwaukee, WI

Yes. Our government is acting treasonous calling the Minutemen vigilantes when government won't do their job!
    - William R. / Brookfield, MA

It's code for "border trespassers terminally turned back"

Hehehe .. I made that up.

BTTT is universal on many BB's and forums to "bump to the top" a post that is slipping to the bottom of the screen. The purpose is to bring it back up to the top so it gets more reads.

Since the original poster's link did not work for the poll results, when I received the e-mail I "bumped" the post so it would be back up at the top of the page so it would get more reads. Otherwise, the addition of the poll results would go overlooked as more posts come in and push this one further down the page and eventually onto the second page.

Thank you very much for explanation.
I have never used those chat rooms and boards so am not familiar with terminology.......and did not know you could bump/move something. Interesting.

Keep fingers crossed for the Minuteman group. They have now been threatened by MS-13 gang, and ACLU. And there is the dreaded group out of Bisbee who threaten to gather near them and read POETRY out loud.....lost flower children from the 60s.......Oh my....Lions and tigers and bears.....Oh my.

Also the Mexican government has chosed this place and time to have 1500 troops on their side of the border (I hope) doing exercises.
